Sustainable Economic Empowerment Through Melon Agribusiness: Integrating Islamic Financing and Community Based Marketing

This community empowerment project aims to enhance the economic welfare of farmers through melon agribusiness development in Napote Hamlet, Bira Timur Village, Sokobanah District, Sampang Regency. The program was carried out for four months, from March 5 to July 10, 2025, involving local government officials, the Cooperative Office, and BMT NU. The empowerment focused on two key aspects: access to capital through sharia-based financing and marketing through a word-of-mouth (WOM) approach. The mentoring process was conducted collaboratively by lecturers and students of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, Institut Agama Islam Al-Khairat Pamekasan. This activity not only improved farmers’ skills in cultivation techniques and business management but also strengthened community collaboration and Islamic economic values in rural agribusiness. The results showed increased farmer confidence in sharia microfinance institutions, better marketing networks, and higher household income levels. Therefore, this empowerment model demonstrates that integrating Islamic financing principles with community-based marketing strategies can sustainably enhance the local economy
