Abstrak

Financial companies, both sharia and conventional, are now an inseparable part of people's economic activities. Financial institutions play an important role in facilitating various financial activities such as saving, investing, and making payments. Among these institutions, Islamic banking has a strategic position because it prioritizes the principles of justice and compliance with Islamic law.This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to analyze the implementation of DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 02/IV/2000 on Easy Wadiah Savings products at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Krian Sidoarjo Branch. Data was collected through structured interviews with management and customers as well as direct observation of the bank's operational activities. The analysis focuses on policies, human resources, and interactions between banks and customers in maintaining compliance with sharia principles. The novelty of this research lies in its study of the implementation of fatwas at the regional branch level, not only at the center. This research provides a new perspective on wadiah practices in the field as well as internal organizational factors—such as work structure and sharia supervision—that affect the effectiveness of implementation. The results are expected to strengthen the empirical understanding of sharia compliance and the development of the quality of Islamic banking services in Indonesia
